Meet the team

BMO Consulting aims to be such partner and the BMO team comprises of three individuals who have gained significant operational and accounting exposure in the SME sector for many years, with specific reference to the franchise sector.

PATRICK MASHA

Managing Director
The team is led by Patrick Masha who is a highly qualified accounting professional with 17 years experience in the finance and investment industries with institutions such as JP Morgan Chase Bank and Ernst and Young. Patrick also attended studies at the School of Business Leadership and Wits Business school where is interest further developed in SME accounting as well as business plan and loan origination for establishment and expansion of small business.

Patrick will oversee accounting compliance, accuracy and reporting processes to funders, franchisors and incubators.

In instances where required, variations and concerning trends will be identified and remedial action proposed.

THABANI BANDA

Director
Business coaching and business management training are the key competencies of Thabani who has been exposed to various business systems outside and within the franchise environment whilst employed by brands such as Engen and Nando’s.

The role that Thabani assumes within the BMO structure is that of coaching and teaching skills relating to administrative accounting and control inventions on the floor of the business. All accounting information streams in the SME environment originate at the hand of the entrepreneur and the accurate recording and proper authorisation of transactions is essential to functional accounting and reporting.

Thabani will be the primary interface with business owners from a training and education perspective.

KOBUS OOSTHUIZEN

Director
As a former franchisor and Chartered Accountant, Kobus has been intricately involved with the development and implementation of control, accounting and reporting systems across many business systems over the past two decades. Systems development was mainly a result of funders’ requirement as reporting was a condition of lending.

Kobus is a former chair of the Franchise Association of South Africa and has managed various enterprise development programmes with The Department of Small Business Development and the Jobs Fund.
